Call for Manuscripts

*************************************************************************** CALL FOR MANUSCRIPTS 2012 OPEN CHAPBOOK COMPETITION A prize of $1,000 and publication for a chapbook-length poetry collection. Previous chapbook publication does not disqualify. International entries are welcome. Multiple submissions are accepted. All entries will be considered for publication. The top-ten finalists will be offered publication. Submit up to 26 pages of poetry, PLUS bio, acknowledgments, SASE and cover letter with a $15 entry fee (pay by check or money order. Bruce Bennett will be the final judge. A self-addressed, stamped envelope (SASE) with the correct postage must accompany all manuscripts. A SASE is needed for any kind of response, even if the writer does not want the material returned. His New and Selected Poems, Navigating The Distances (Orchises Press), was cited by Booklist as "One of the Top Ten Poetry Books of 1999." He cofounded and served as an Editor of Field and Ploughshares, and for many years was an Associate Editor at Judith Kitchen's State Street Press. His reviews of contemporary poetry have appeared in the New York Times Book Review, The Nation, and many other magazines and journals. He was recently awarded a Pushcart Prize. He is Professor and Chair of English and Director of Creative Writing at Wells College.
